Past Litters

Taffy/Colton litter

Princess Taffeta gave birth on October 14th, in the wee hours of the morning. Miss Maple woke up my husband with her barking. Timothy went downstairs to tell Maple to be quiet, and found Taffy with the first puppy. Timothy woke me up, I woke up Emeline, and we all waited and watched for the second puppy. Timothy went to bed not too long after the second puppy was born. Emeline made it until the fourth was born. I stayed to monitor the situation, but Taffy had it well in hand. I went to bed after the tenth baby was born because I thought Taffy's signs of relaxing and settling in with the pups indicated she was done. When I went downstairs the next morning, there was an 11th pup. Whew. That's a lot of puppies for a first-time Mama!

Maple/Hondo litter

Miss Maple Fox gave birth to ten puppies on March 5.

It was rather exciting. I was with my two oldest boys at a ski race. My daughter, Harriet, let Maple outside when Maple was standing at the door whining. Then Harriet went back to playing a board game with her dad and siblings and forgot all about Maple.

A little later, my daughter, Emeline, heard a weird sound. We are giving credit to divine intervention that Emeline went and investigated the noise. It was a puppy--under the front deck, in the freezing cold.

Panicked, Emeline crawled under the deck--an impressive feat considering the snow in the way--and rescued the puppy. Maple followed Emeline and the puppy inside, where Maple and puppy were warmed up and where Maple was able to deliver the other nine puppies in a safe, secure, and warm environment.

Pink or Sweetie (as we all call her 100% of the time), is the sweetest, delicate, most feminine pup. She reminds me of Maple. She loves to be held. She is very quiet and calm. She has a white ruff that goes halfway around her neck, a shepherd's lantern on her tail, a slender face, and four white paws. She is one of the larger puppies.

Jesse--One Week Old

Blue or Bewilderbeast (as my 8 year-old called him and we all followed suit) is a handsome boy. He is medium to large compared to the other puppies, has very striking neck markings, black tippy ears, four white paws, a shepherd's lantern on his tail, and a more square face.

Jesse--Two Weeks Old

Just as dapper as ever, but about double the size! Blue is doing great. He's still very calm when we hold him. He makes a lot of little yips and yaps. His eyes are open, and he's trying to walk. Darling!

Orange collar: clear sable male

Orange--Newborn

Orange--One Week Old

Orange or Little Scrawny is a favorite. He has a lot of personality. He likes to have his belly rubbed. He is more active than the other puppies, and he gives the impression of being curious (although he's too young for it to really be curiosity). He is the smallest of the litter, but is plumping up nicely. His white markings on his neck look like an arrow. He has four white paws, a shepherd's lantern tail, and a square face.

Orange--Two Weeks Old

Orange collar is doing great. He's growing nice and plump, his eyes are opened, and he is the most active of any of the puppies. He's a mover and a shaker, for sure. I adore his ears!

Ridge--Newborn

Ridge--One Week Old

Limey is one of the lightest of the clear sables (the lighting is making him look darker in these pictures than he really is). He is medium sized, with an in-between face--not slender, but not as square as some of the others. He has four white paws, a shepherd's lantern tail, a broad, complete ruff, and a wide stripe down his face. He is a charmer.

Ridge--Two Weeks Old

Limey is growing so fast! He has doubled in weight, opened his eyes, and started wobbling around on his little legs. His ears in some of these pictures just slay me. So cute!

Doug-Two Weeks Old

Black collar is a great pup. He is the fluffiest of the puppies currently, and he has darling little ears! His eyes are open, and he's trying to walk! Charming!
